Messaging Format Tool
The Tool-Icon buttons are "Insert Image" and "Insert Hyperlink" and "Translate"

The first two are self-explanatory -- at least I hope. The third, Translate, is for using an in-character foreign language. Clicking the button will reveal a pop-up modal.

Using this, one can type the English phrase, select the outgoing language, click the gear to translate. Once satisfied, click the "Drop" button to insert the foreign phrase.
This means “The rat is dead” becomes the following:
De rotta er Olukkod in dwarvish
i' musair naa ba in elvish
Mat arratek op olik in Lizardish
Ic magmus exis morduus in jzaknis
Ok, I removed a few buttons. Only the Bold, Italics, Underline, Dwarven, and Elvish remain. These are only used for formatting. All these do is apply formatting. Dwarven and Elvish apply a symbol-based font associated with the cultural alphabet.
Thanks for the clarification!
So the Bold, Italics, and Underline icon buttons should be self-explanatory. However, Dwarven, Elfin, Orkane, Lizardish, and Gorvik buttons need a bit of an update. They should only set the symbol-font for each language. Only Dwarven and Elfish actually use a special font; however, the others are a common look. That said, they currently include a "tongues" HTML tag. This tells the forum to add the translate icon and assumes the text inside will be already translated. This made sense when using the Tongue Tool and copying it. However, the Translation icon button does most of the work for you. So, those extra stages probably need to be removed by default. I'll update this message tool tonight and continue with the details later.
There have been many changes over the four years of this thread. So, here is the latest.
Here is a high-level overview. I'll include a few more after this post for individual use.

All the formatting buttons do exactly that - they have no transformative power; they only set fonts and colors.
Jzaknis language vocabulary is 50% complete.
Also, for those interested, I added two new fonts for character-speech: Oxtiger and Wild Wolf
I can read it now
It should be working now. Remember, you have to click the little translation button in front of the phrase.
I just saw the translate button isn't workibg
Says eg exio ametial

The Jzaknis language has been added to the forum; however, there are still around a thousand vocabulary words to add. That said, the grammar rules should be applying. If you have a jzaka character, let me know if you read the line below:

 eg exio ametial
There is a new update to the message format tool. Two new buttons have been added: “Elvish” and “Dwarven”
To use them, it would be best to use the Tongues tool to ensure the language was legit, as this tool only controls the font. First type the message normally.

Next, highlight the words to be changed.

If you want these spoken in the character’s personal font, do that first. Then click the “Apply Character Font” button.

Then finally, click the “Elvish” button while the desired text is still highlighted or re-highlight only the parts for the font-change.

And it words for Dwarven as well…
I came to realize that I never documented the character Font option. In the characters section, there are HTML settings to define your characters voice and color-coding. When that is updated, then the list can be selected from and applied to the textbox to put that markup into the preview.
Updated the Private Messages on the Forum. Now the timestamp of when the message was read by each member in the message can be seen.
To clarify, the timestamp is from the last time read by the entire thread, not individual messages.
I have rebuilt the message tool to include the image-upload feature again. It no longer throws the error it was before. Long-story short: the messages needed to be encoded.

Some notes about images: when uploading an image, the preview will show a thumbnail (not in real size) and also an [image-tag] in the message text-area.

• By after uploading an image, it will display [img {link-to-uploaded-image} {alignment}; {percent};]

• There is no reason to change the {link-to-uploaded-image}.

• Valid options for {alignment}; are left, right, center and none. This determines where the image will appear relative to the text.

• Lastly, the {percent}; value determines how much of the screen width the image will take. This is always relevant to the viewer's screen; thus, it could appear differently to others. Using 100% would be the safest option if you want consistent formatting.

The imaging widget was throwing errors on the post - so, I've currently removed it. But also, I added a "Character Font" with players and common NPCs listed. Selecting a character will set the font-color box.
Uploading images and inserting hyperlinks is now supported.
A minor update to this: the font-color now shows a preview of the color in the selection box.
Just wanted to give a quick tutorial on the messaging format tool.

Whenever composing a message or post for the forum, the tool is available. It has a preview tool beneath it which displays a WYSIWYG view. Also, it can stylize fonts as bold, italics or underlined by use of the buttons in the upper-left corner. When highlighting text being written and clicking one of those three buttons, everything highlighted becomes wrapped by markup-tags for the style chosen. Those tags can be inserted without highlighting and then typing between them can performed. From a keyboard, they can be inserted as well. Highlighted or not, Ctrl-B, Ctrl-I and Ctrl-U will wrap the markup-tags.

The same techniques can be used with the font-color feature. Select the color from the dropdown then click the paintbrush button to apply it. The markup language also supports images; however, there is not an interface to upload them yet. That is next on the list to update.
