While the explanation for this class is known, there is a bit of vagueness about how that explanation happens. Perhaps the best modern explanation for this would be a comicbook mutation from some source of radiation. There is where the vagueness begins. There are theories about what is called nasthena but there is much debate over what creates it. Most theories work along the same lines as the well-established understanding of miasma, where prolonged bio-energies combine in a negative way based on an emotional catalyst. The other popular theory of nasthena is that it could be a byproduct of sorcery or more likely the incantations from a evil powers.
