PHYLUM: GENIE

The genie hail from off-plane and thrive by absorbing the energy given off from the social interaction of intelligent zoola; thus, their survival has a dependence on either direct or indirect exposure to zoola. Unlike the undead, genies enjoy this dependence, often seeking out company with different societies. However, they tend to gravitate to batfolk, elves, humans and jzaka the most. Most genies have the ability to appear like a hominoid species after being exposed to them for a few weeks, even if that is from a mild distance. This helps them to achieve their life ambition, which is to find a suitable zoola with which to bond. The bonding process is perhaps best thought of as a business pact of covenant, but most genies view bonding with more enthusiasm than their zoola partners. Genies have a passion for bonding similarly to marriage; however, it rarely has an element of romance for the dorlean.
