 Over-Category: Biophage
 Kingdom: Ooze
Beings that are biophages are those who eat and survive by the consumption of other living and materials or various nutrients that reside in the earth or native terrain.
Oozes are gelatinous creatures that rarely have a fixed shape. They are mostly subterranean, dwelling in caves and dungeons and feeding on refuse, carrion, or creatures unlucky enough to get in their way. Black puddings and gelatinous cubes are among the most recognizable oozes.
These creatures are effectively mindless, granting them immunity to all mind-affecting effects (charms, compulsions, phantasms, patterns, illusions, etc). Further, they are blind (but have 20-feet radius of blindsight) which gives them immunity to gaze attacks, visual effects, illusions, and other attack forms that rely on sight. They are also immune to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, polymorph, and stunning. Oozes eat and breathe, but do not sleep.

Black Mold

The average black mold measures 15 ft across and 2 ft thick, weighing around 15,000 lb. In underground locations, these creatures appeared as dark blobs, but they might be missed completely in the shadows. A creature requires a Perception check (DC:12) to notice even when standing within 10 feet if darkness or shadows are a factor.

These creatures are mindless underground-dwelling hunters and scavengers that wander and absorb whatever they found. A black mold will position itself in a dungeon hallway like a shadow and wait for unsuspecting prey. Black mold attack by grappling and constricting prey directly into their liquidy mass. Like many other oozes, they secrete a deadly alchemical corrosive which quickly dissolves organic tissue and eventually bone and weapons. If successfully grabbed, a victim suffers an immediate d4 points of Body damage from the acid. If the victim remains held by the beginning of the pudding's next turn, then another d4 points of damage are inflicted. When slashed with an edged weapon, damage is inflicted, but the black mold splits into two smaller puddings (body equally divided), both gaining separate grappling attacks; this continues until they were too small and weak to do so further. Molds are immune to both blunt and piercing weapons.
