For all practical purposes, Ideophages do not eat at all; they do no grow or sustain from a known energy. Constructs, while not the only Ideophages, are the clearest example. A golem constucted of stone will exist until the stone erodes or is significantly damaged in some way.
Elementals are creatures who are native to the elemental planes. Some creatures of this type are little more than animate masses of their respective elements, including the creatures simply called elementals. Others have biological forms infused with elemental energy. The races of genies, including djinn and efreet, form the most important civilizations on the elemental planes. These entities have darkvision out to 60 feet. Further, they have immunity to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, and stunning. Elementals do not eat food, sleep, or breathe.

Pain Beetle 

These overgrown bugs of around 16-inches in length hail from elemental dimensions of earth, dust and sand. While appearing mostly harmless, pain beetles live off the pain and agony of others. The produce a sonic hum from vibrating their wings which can be focused onto a single being in an adjacent hex to attack Spirit. Their prey must make a Resilience save (DC:14) or suffer d3 points of Spirit damage. They can also bite on a d20 to deliver Body damage as a melee attack. However, because the beetle does not wish to kill but rather absorb the pain of others, it attacks physically first, then uses the Spirit vibration attack to feed from the pain. When the victim has reached a Body score below 5, a beetle will break off the attack and leave. Should a beetle attack a victim and render its prey unconscious, the beetle will wander off looking for another target. While the bug’s primary method of movement is scurrying, a pain beetle is capable of short distances of leaping and flight, up to 20 feet.
