Dragon, Magical

A dragon in the magical stage is tougher and more armored than its younger counterpart. In addition to being able to emit their breath weapon more frequently depending on its age, these beasts can have sorcery axioms. Her age determines Mind and Spirit scores. Beginning on its third anniversary of its hatching, for each seven years after years until her 94th year, the dragon gains one axiom randomly to be used for sorcery but not to exceed the appropriate cost compared to her logic score. The very first axiom gained will always be a 1-point axiom. Also at these growth stages, her Mind and Spirit scores increase based on the sub-attributes incrementing.

A few other benefits for a dragon to be in the magic stage of its life is that its breath weapon becomes available more often. For each decade, years 3 to 9, 10 to 19 and so on, the duration that must be waited before using the breath weapon again decreases, until at age 90, she can used her breath weapon (5d6 damage) with only a d4 round delay.

All of these age-based details can be seen in more detail at here. This specific listing is a magical dragon at the age of 52 years.

Because dragons are both rare and vary in skill and scores, it is recommended each be treated as an NPC rather than a template-based monster.
