Beings that are biophages are those who eat and survive by the consumption of other living and materials or various nutrients that reside in the earth or native terrain. Plant Life in this context are vegetable creatures, not ordinary flora. Most of them are ambulatory, and some are carnivorous. The most well-known plants are the shambling mound and the treant. Fungal creatures such as the gas spore also fall into this category. Plants have immunity to poison, sleep effects, paralysis, polymorph, and stunning. Further, they cannot be charmed or affected by phantasms; however, glamours may still fool them. Plants breathe and eat, but do not sleep. |
Flowermaid
A flowermaid appears as an attractive person sitting in a field of flowers. The odor released creates an aura of calm in a 20-foot radius. Any persons in the area capable of being affected by poison must make a Judgment preservation save roll (DC:18) or suffer a temporary loss of d6 mind points and are unaware of the loss. Those making the save will notice others are acting with a strange euphoria; however, if failing on future saves, this awareness of others ceases. For each round remaining in the area, saves must be continuously made, if by those previously successful. However, if previously failing and then making three successful saves, then the mind-numbing effect can be shaken off.
When a victim reaches a mind score of zero or lower, that being will have the compulsion to sit and relax, regardless of the surroundings. Once helpless, the flowermaid will reach out and feed upon the victim. This occurs for potentially hours, unless interrupted, with 1 body point lost every 10 minutes. The flowermaid is capable of spreading its roots up from the ground to consume up to eight targets at once. However, this plant can be physically beaten to death to prevent the feeding, the mind-effecting odor will linger and be potent for another six hours. However, if burned, the odor is destroyed immediately, but all within 60 feet must save against Judgment against the same euphoric effect. Those temporary mind points will restore after a victim is no longer in an odiferous area or has made three successful saves, and then points restore at a rate of 1 point per minute.
